out and about

For Jesika's birthday we had a delicious dinner at the Red Iguana.  I love Mexican food and it was just a nice night out, listening to the music and enjoying a lot of tasty things to eat with good friends...Alan, Chris, Amanda, Jack, Aimee, Jesika, Kris, and MJ.

Krystal, Becca, and I attended a Single's Under the Sea event at the Aquarium.  It was fun to explore the aquarium (even though we found a poor dead milk toad) and compete in the Ama-Sea-ing Race.  We were split into teams and had to follow the clues to each area of the aquarium where we answered trivia and completed tasks.  I had to "eat like a penguin" and eat sardines, crab, and pickled herring.  It was a lot of fun and my team came in 6th out of 20.  We also did some speed dating, and then went to the dance.  Glad we stepped out of our comfort zones and had a good time.

Camping weekend

"In wilderness lies the hope of the world."
-John Muir

A weekend of camping, of 100s of rounds of ammo, delicious food around the campfire, and millions of stars.

I was able to head to the West Desert for an adventure weekend with Rebekah, Scott, Steve, Alan, Zac, Emily, Amber, Rebecca, Igor, Chris, Danny, Scott H., Nate, Erin, Aimee and Cynic, Elizabeth, Micah, and Mike.  I didn't know half of these people, but we had a great time exploring the desert.

Friday afternoon Steve, Alan, Chris, and I took a drive through the desert, collecting rocks, looking for wildlife, exploring, and talking about dating and life.

The stars were stunning and Emily helped me take some pictures.  They aren't the best but they sure make me happy.

Saturday morning we went paintballing.  I had never been before and it was a lot of fun.... until Nate used me as a human shield leading to a win for his team.

Funny side story is about the Port a potty.  There is no bathrooms or running water in the West Desert and while I thought I could brave it and dig a hole some people were concerned so I brought my parent's Port a potty.  It turned into 7 girls planning on using it to most people using it, so lets just say if became rather full, rather fast.  Erin, Emily, Amber, Rebekah, and I went to empty it out by digging a hole and dumping.  There are chemicals in there that dissolve everything pretty well and turn it into blue liquid, but we were freaking out and dying of laughter anyway.
