The long and winding [bumpy bumpy bumpy] road

We had an hour long commute from our town of Siem Reap to the village of Peak Sneag where we were working.  We took 2 buses out there with all of our supplies everyday, driving through Angkor Wat then onto a long and very bumpy road.  The first time we drove it I fell in love with Cambodia in the first 15 minutes.   Driving through the Angkor Wat temples was incredible.  Monkies, statues, elephants, and Monks walking around.  My favorite part is when we would drive under the gates.  Lining the gates were Demons and Gods holding a giant snake, and then there was a giant head above it.
After Angkor Wat we would drive along the bumpy road and watch people on motor bikes, and bicycles (it was amazing how many people could fit on one and what they could haul as well).  Water buffalo and cows, dogs, and chickens, and people cooking and hanging out at their shack stick houses all smiling and waving as we drove by.

We spent a lot of time on that road.  Filthy and wet, exhausted but smiling each and every day.
